Sitting across the Xingu River deep in the Amazon rainforest, it has caused controversy because it will cause hundreds of square miles of flooding.And construction crews are now under fire for not keeping the creature alive. And it said the massive predator weighed nearly half a ton, measured 32ft from end to end and was a metre across in places.Now it seems the huge cobra could have been the largest snake ever, with bulges in its body clear signs of its voracious appetite. While an official record is hard to come by, Guinness World Records lists the longest snake – measured in 2011 – as being eight feet shorter.But the record holder, Medusa, is only the confirmed king of captive snakes, being owned by Full Moon Productions in Kansas City, Missouri.
