Raj (Ashok Rijal), a teenager from poor family background, is living in a village of Nepal. He dreams of making his condition better but is shattered. Frustrated with his life, he goes to Malaysia as a migrant worker, to live a good life. The movie unravels the hardships faced by Raj as well as the like Aakash (Dayahang Rai) there. Rahadani is about the struggles and hardships of Nepali migrant workers, but the director fails to present that in the film. The film’s essence can’t come across, and the audiences are seen laughing in tragic scenes too. It lacks soul and can’t provoke any emotion. Debutant director Dabbu Kshetri has crafted a bland film taking the topic that could have triggered all feelings and emotions in one. He has fused love story, betrayal, fights, friendship, sorrow and item dance to make the film yet none of these appeal the audience during the watch. Actors and their performances don’t help much to add life to the film. Had the actors acted well in the movie, pain and suffering of the migrant workers would have been reflected convincingly, making it a watchable flick. But they can’t create emotions as required by their characters — the emotional portrayal looks rather dramatic. Rijal as Raj fails to portray the pain his character feels. His dialogue delivery too is not powerful — commanding and loving tone haven’t been expressed well. Binita Ghimire as Raj’s girlfriend doesn’t make an impression with her acts, she is not expressive as a lover. Everyone’s favourite actor Rai, known for acting skills, can’t salvage the film. His role is short and he often lacks emotions in whatever screen presence he gets. Director Kshetri has not been able to make good use of Rai’s talent. He has failed to bring out the best of other actors as well. https://youtu.be/Xf9sztdCIFU
