Green tea is known as healthy drink and many doctors too refers this tea for many patients. This tea is made from Camellia Sinensis . This tea is originated in China but the production of green tea is spread to many other Asian countries.
This is more popular in all over the world and in Nepal too.
There are now several varieties of green tea introduced in the market which differ substantially due to their growing conditions, horticulture, their production procedure and time of harvest. Green tea is suggested by many doctors and health care workers and there are various advantages of green tea that is beneficial for health. Here are few advantages of green tea;
Advantages:
-It Reduce risk of heart disease, according to the study of Harvard School’s health watch, this tea contains antioxidant which help to low bad cholesterol and helps in increasing good cholesterol. This is also beneficial for blood pressure as well.
– This tea is loaded with polyphenols like flavonoids and catechins which is powerful antioxidant and this substance can reduce the formation of free radicals in the body and it also protects cells and molecules from getting damage. These free radicals are very harmful which plays a role in aging and all sorts of disease.
-It also has small amount of minerals that too helps in improvement of health.
-The compounds of green tea improve brain function as well, It also has the amino acid L.
-Theanine which is able to cross the blood brain barrier.
-It also burns the fat and helps in improving physical performance, it has shown to boost the metabolism rate and increase fat burning as well.
-Green tea is an excellent source of antioxidant, where the antioxidant lowers the risks of various types of cancers, and it lowers the risk of diabetes because green tea cause mild reduction in sugar level.

There are many advantages of this green tea but it has some disadvantages as well which are as follows: –
-Pregnant shouldn’t drink more green tea because a high level of consumption of green tea during pregnancy increase the risk of miscarriages and a number of other negative effects.
– Green tea when taking during fasting leads to gastrointestinal, renal and liver toxicities.
– Green tea contains tannins, and the tannins are the elements that block the absorption of iron from food.
– It contains a type of polyphenols called catechins so if taken in excess they target the mitochondria, which are the powerhouses of the cells in your body, and disrupt the metabolic processes.
-People with anxiety disorder should stay away from green tea because green tea makes anxiety worst, the caffeine in green tea can even cause irregular heartbeats.
