Nails get ruined when lunula is harmed
The lower part of nail is called lunula. When it gets harmed, nails becomes useless temporarily. Do not worry if you have not seen the lunula. It might not be seen because it is covered by muscles. But it can be seen in the lower part of the thumb.

Nails of wounded fingers do not grow:
After Bin published his study in a journal Oxford Skin Disease expert Robert started to study his own nails. He got an injury on his index finger as a child while playing football and he realized that nails of his index finger were growing slower than others.

Faster nail growth in left handers:
In a study it was revealed that left handed people have faster nail growth as compared to right handed people. According to experts finger nails are used more so they grow faster as compared to toe nails.

Blood flow affects nail growth:
It is said that finger are directly attached to heart so because of the excess blood flow, finger nails grow faster than toe nails. In summer there is more blood flow so, nails grow faster in summer.

Faster growth in middle finger:
Every month, nails grow at the rate or 3.47 mm. It is two times faster than toe nails. Nails of children and youth grow faster. The nails of small finger grow slower as compared to other fingers, Normally nails of small finger grows at the rate of 3.8 mm every month. Nails of middle finger grow faster as compared to others.
