Minister for Home Affairs Shakti Bahadur Basnet has expressed the government’s readiness to establish emergency centre at district-level to rescue the flood survivors. Minister Basnet, who arrived district headquarters, Manma, this morning to take stock the situation of flood survivors in Kalikot, informed the public that the government decided to arrange emergency materials with the setup of an emergency centre. He also pledged to provide relief of Rs 5,000 along with two bundles of zinc corrugated sheets to the flood survivors of Kalikot.The Home Minister assured the implementation of the government policy that was formulated after the flood-induced losses in mid and far-western regions last year to render relief to the disaster-hit people. Minister Basnet condoled the grief-stricken family members of those killed in the flood and landslide that occurred in Gejbazaar on May 19.According to the Kalikot District Administration Office, the flood and landslide had triggered damages worth Rs 30 million.
