It is not disease on it’s own. Thyroid is a gland that produces hormone. It is located at the front of neck. It only affects the body when the amount of hormone produced by it increases or decrease. It is located at neck but hormone produced by it affects the entire body. It controls every activity of body. The increase or decrease in amount of hormone produced by it affects the body.

What causes it?
Deficiency of iodine, too much chemicals in food and weakness in immune system causes imbalance in hormone. And this starts to show its effect. Consuming heart or depression medicines, and even CT scan can also cause this.

What kinds of people suffer from it?
It can happen to anyone. It can happy to people of any age, gender and race. But is mostly happens to women. In every 10 people 9 women and a man is affected by it.

Why it affects women the most?
The physical structure of women is different from men. Hormones can easily get imbalanced in women so there is more effect of thyroid. Men also get affected by it but in very small amount. Men are affected less as compared to women.
